At a time when many restaurants and fuel stations are closed to drivers, IMC Companies Chairman Mark H. George and his wife Melinda are working to ensure drivers in Memphis have access to meals. During the past several weeks, they, and IMCG President Joel Henry, personally passed out 150 boxed lunches every Tuesday and Thursday to all drivers entering the Memphis terminal’s interchange lanes in an IMCC initiative called “Sandwiches for Semis”. IMC Companies buys intermodal company, expands national footprint
IMC Companies has acquired TRANSInternational System, an intermodal company based in Worthington, Ohio, that operates intermodal freight terminals in nine U.S. cities, including Chicago, Atlanta, Cleveland and Memphis.
“I am impressed with TRANSInternational’s leadership, history, services, values and team members,” Mark H. George, chairman of Memphis-based IMC Companies, said in a release. “I look forward to welcoming their team into our family of brands.”
IMC will be merging TRANSInternational System’s operations into its companies Ohio Intermodal Services, Intermodal Cartage Company, DNJ Intermodal Services and Atlantic Intermodal Services. (more…)Read more
Chamber Partners with IMC Companies Host Japanese Delegation
International marine drayage company, IMC Companies, recently hosted a delegation of logistics consulting and service providers from Japan. The event sponsored by the Greater Memphis Chamber, highlighted Memphis-area logistics companies for potential future business opportunities.
The group, led by Japan’s Funai Soken Logistics, Inc., visited the IMC Companies corporate office and Memphis terminal and the FedEx distribution facility. “We were delighted to host this fine delegation of Japanese logistics providers at our headquarters and terminal,” said IMC Companies Executive Vice President Donna Lemm. “They were extremely knowledgeable about our industry, and we shared ideas to benefit both of our countries.” (more…)Read more
